Donald G. Prange, age 75, of Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at Brandywine Nursing Home in Greenfield. Born on Oct. 21, 1935, in Greenfield, he was the son of William Christian and Florence Katherine (Marshall) Prange.
Don worked for the Indiana Knitwear/Rayon as a Warehouse Manager for 34 years before retiring in 1999. He had also worked at Eastern Hancock High School as a custodian for seven years. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion of Greenfield and loved horse racing. He had served in the U.S. Marines and U.S. Army.
Surviving him are his children, Susan Prange, Jeff (Susie) Prange, Brian Dean Prange, Scott (Kim) Prange, Debbie Hughes, Sherri Lynch, and Eric (Cindi) Lynch; siblings, Alice Rainey, Hilda (Jack) Patton, Jerry (Rosalee) Prange, Chris (Jean) Prange, and Edgar (Jacqueline) Prange; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Helen Prange; and brothers, Golie Gene Prange and Michael Lynn Prange.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at the mortuary. Pastor Paul Johnson will be officiating the service. Burial will take place at St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery.
