Orsel Thomas Dudley, 84, of Indianapolis, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 6, 1926, in Grydon, Mich., the son of the late Orsel Thomas and Catherine (Shelton) Dudley.

Survivors include his son, Daniel T. (Freda) Dudley of Knightstown; daughter-in-law, Carolyn M. Dudley of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Frieda Bailey, Mariella Bailey and Phyllis Waterstradt all of Mich.; brother, C. A. "Duke" Dudley of Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joyce (Gumfory) Dudley; son, Lieutenant Gary Edward Dudley; and sisters, Willazine Sanchez and Esther Cloutier.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at the funeral home. Pastor Ken Wells will officiate. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
