Clarence E. Gruel, 89, died on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Tipton Hospital. He was born on Sept. 10, 1921, in Lewisville, Ind. to the late Earl and Jeanette (Foster) Gruel.
He is survived by his daughters, Edith Calvert of Fortville, Letha (Jack) Roberts of Indianapolis, Carrie (Tom) Klaasen of Indianapolis, Pattie Gruel of Modesto, Calif. and Phyllis Gruel of Elwood; sisters, Clara McCurdy of Sebring, Fla., and Millie Boles of McCordsville; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Crail) Gruel; and brothers, Les, Ben, Raymond, Herman, Walter and Cecil.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Washington Park Cemetery East, Indianapolis.
