Douglas Underwood, 66, of Pendleton, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Countryside Manor in Anderson after an extended illness. He was born Nov. 17, 1944, in Altus, Okla.
He is survived by his wife, Alfa (Castor) Underwood; children, Christopher Underwood, Kurt (René) Underwood, Shelley (Ronnie) Landers, Shane (Angie) Ashton and Mishelle (Alvin) Cave; mother, Marianne (Presser) Underwood; brother, Joseph Kent (Cindy) Underwood; an uncle; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Jim (Charlotte) Castor and Bill (Judy) Castor; and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Col. John Underwood Jr.; an aunt; and two cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson, IN 46013.
Services will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at the funeral home. Rev. Shawn Easterling will officiate. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery in Pendleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Madison County 4-H Association.
