Harold B. Ottinger, age 88, of Carthage, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at his home. He was born July 11, 1922, in Zionsville, the son of the late Francis and Ocal Brown Ottinger.
Survivors include his son, Daniel (Rita) Ottinger; daughters, Peggy Wagoner and Marlena (Steve) Bousman; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; many great great-grandchildren; brothers, Russell and Floyd, both of Sheridan; and sister, Barbara Jean of Indianapolis.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Norma Adams; sons, Harold Jr., Byron Leroy; four sisters; three brothers; a twin brother and sister in infancy; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Marcum Community Funeral Home, 1402 Audubon Rd., New Castle, IN 47362. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday Nov. 12, 2010, at the funeral home. Rev. Robert Eugene Bousman will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. There will be military honors provided by the VFW and American Legion.
